NFL suspends free agent DT Ferguson The National Football League has reportedly suspended defensive tackle Jason Ferguson for the first eight games of the 2010 season for a violation of the league's performance enhancing drug program.
The Miami Herald reported the suspension with confirmation from a league spokesman.

Dolphins sign LB Karlos Dansby The Miami Dolphins signed linebacker Karlos Dansby on Saturday to a reported five-year contract, taking arguably the top- rated free agent linebacker off the market.
The deal is reportedly worth $43 million, with $22 million guaranteed.
Dansby, who has spent his entire six-year career with the Arizona Cardinals, is most remembered for scoring the game-winning touchdown in overtime during the team's win over the Green Bay Packers in what was the highest-scoring playoff game in NFL history.

Pennington inks deal with Dolphins Chad Pennington has signed a one-year contract to return to the Miami Dolphins in 2010.
According to the Miami Herald on Friday, Pennington inked a $2.5 million deal with the Dolphins, whom he guided to an unlikely playoff berth in 2008. The paper also reported the signal-caller will be paid $1.5 million if he is traded.

Dolphins release LBs Porter, Ayodele The Miami Dolphins terminated the contracts of linebackers Akin Ayodele and Joey Porter along with safety Gibril Wilson.
Miami attempted to release Porter, a four-time Pro Bowl selection, back on February 12, but the NFL didn't allow the transaction to take place because it would have violated the salary cap.
Porter's release was finalized on Friday due to the fact that there is no cap in the league this year.
